Staff Bulletin - Week of October 24, 2011

MORNING GREETERS (8:00 to 8:10 am) Diaz and Shultz
EYES ON THE BLACKTOP (3:20 to 3:30 pm) Lobatz and Kayson
PD MEETING – Wednesday, 10/26 from 2:15 to 3:30 pm
Our major agenda topic will focus on specific ways that we can academically stretch our highest achievers. Please bring  your gradebooks/class rosters as you will have the opportunity to meet with other grade level teachers to discuss specific strategies to stretch the learning of those students who can be difficult  to challenge on a regular basis - particularly if there are only a few in each class.

INFORMATION NIGHT – Thursday, 10/27 from 6:30 to 7:30 pm
This is a big night for us as we are recruiting students for the 2012/2013 school year. We'll share our recruitment plan with you at Wednesday's PD meeting.

VOLLEYBALL GAME – Thursday, 10/28 beginning at 4:00 pm
Come root on the Olympians as they play Nea in our gym beginning at 4:00.
CLUB FAIR - Friday, 10/29 at lunch
I can't tell you how pleased I am that so many of you are sponsoring clubs. This is a fantastic way to connect students to the school. So far it sounds like we have the following clubs: Soap making, cooking, yoga, history, science, pen pals, ecology, knitting and surfing/skating. If I've missed any, let me know. On Friday, we'll set up tables (location to be determined) and you can promote your club to students.

New Staff Members!
I am happy to announce two new staff members. Arasely Padilla will be teaching Spanish and Alyssa Lunch is our new special education teacher. Arasely will begin Monday and Alyssa will start as soon as her livescan is processed - probably Wednesday or Thursday.
