Hello everyone, only six
weeks to go. Let’s work even closer together to finish the year strong.
Tight lessons, structured classroom management, caring towards all students but
firm disciplinary consequences for those who do not meet our high expectations
and close contact with parents. There is a tendency for teachers (I know from
first hand experience) to try to cover too much material at the end of the year,
as there are so many standards for each course. This is a good time to scale
back on the essential content and skill standards that will have the most
significant impact on student learning. There will be time at this week’s staff
meeting for teams to have that conversation. How we finish the year will have a
big impact on how we start next year. Please let Nora and I know how we can
support you.
